Nana

On December 27th 2006 my grandmother went home to be with her Lord. She was 85. I already miss her more than I could ever imagine.

Jackson is not afraid of much....

We knew for sure that Jackson had an unhealthy fear of Japanese restaurants but today we learned that we can add preschool Christmas programs to the list.

Year of the Mustache

Well, it is almost 2007 and I have some goals for the new year. These are not resolutions as I do not have much resolve to do anything. They are goals! So in the year of our Lord 2 007 here are a few things that I would like to do.

1) Grow a mustache. They are going to be really hot this year and I need to be on that trend.
2) Sell a small, green house.
3) Spend more time playing with my kids.
4) Buy a small batch coffee roaster and start making my own blends in my garage. (If anyone wants to invest in this let me know)
5)Put together a team and train for Primal Quest and mop the floor with team Nike. http://www.ecoprimalquest.com/2006/race/ Read through the materials and let me know if you are interested. I need three more people.
6) Go to my 10 year reunion sporting said mustache.
7) Grow my hair out long.
8) Drop about 271lbs.

This is not everything that I want to do in 2007. It is just what I could shoot out off the top of my head. There may be more to come.

Experimental Chili

I Love Chili!!!!! I just wanted to get that out int the open. To Nick Burns, thanks for the venison chili....oh wait. Like any red blooded American I typically will never turn down a bowl. In hindsight yesterday I should have. I am pretty sure that some irreversible damage has now been done.

So I am out visiting a client who makes and packages food for M.R.E. We walk past the test kitchen and I catch a whiff of something.

Chris "I smell cayenne"

Client "you have a good nose that is some experimental chili we are working on"

Chris " smells good"

Client "want some?"

Chris "you know it"

At this point we detour in to the test kitchen. My clients proceeds to get me a pouch of chili marked batch 13 out of a box. He cuts the seal and pours it into a bowl throws it in the microwave for 60 seconds and sets it in front of me. I should note that at this point I am still excited about having chili at 10 in the morning.

As I take my first bite he mentions that they have not been able to get FDA approval for it yet. I should have stopped then and there but I pressed on. When it hit my lips I knew something wasn't right.

Client "What do you think"

Chris "that is interesting"

Client "It is our vegetarian chili, we make it from curdled soy and color it to look like chili"

At this point I am in to far to turn back. It was the worst thing that I have ever finished off. My stomach as bee speaking to me ever since. what is more concerning to me is that it feels like my inside are coated with something heavy.

So if anyone ever offers you some"experimental chili" just say no.

Coffee

So...I am out of coffee at the office. As I have not yet had my daily limit my hands are starting to shake, I am having trouble focusing, and I think I am starting to get light headed. So before I tear somebody apart please bring a cup of that black meth. Seriously If someone could please run me up a little this morning I would compensate them well. By compensate I am saying you will probably get a mug or something else with my company logo on it. Come on people it doesn't even need to be hot.

Wagon Wheel -- Old Crow Medicine Show

So I have been a fan now for a few years and I thought that I would share it with you. If you don't know who these guys are you need to go to www.crowmedicine.com or follow the link on my blog and pick up an album or two. They make great Christmas gifts.
